In 2018, my dear friend Sade asked me to photograph her first pregnancy. My first perinatal session. Her only ask was for the vibes to be easy + intimate. So we reimagined this hidden park in the middle of Boston to be a tropical country side in Dominica, where this mama-to-be is from.
Baby Isaiah was born sleeping a month later. This devastating loss broadened my creative identity + humanized the full spectrum of the perinatal journey for those BLACK + BROWN + BIRTHING with my work.
